THE HEART OF HERITAGE
Prince Saud bin Talal bin Badr, Governor of Al-Ahsa, today (Tuesday) sponsored the closing ceremony of the «Al-Ahsa Falcon Festival» in its first edition, organized by Al-Ahsa Governorate, in cooperation with the Saudi Falcons Club, in the presence of the CEO of the Saudi Falcons Club, Talal Al-Shamisi, a number of government and private sector officials, and a number of falcon owners in the Kingdom of various categories.
The ceremony began with verses from the Holy Quran, then Abdulaziz bin Fahd Al-Moosa, Chairman of the Organizing Committee, delivered a speech in which he expressed his happiness at the honor of the Governor of Al-Ahsa for the closing ceremony of the festival, stressing the unlimited support provided by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Highness the Crown Prince for this ancient national heritage and living human heritage.
Al-Moosa pointed to the direct support provided by the Governor of Al-Ahsa to the organizing committee of the festival, which falls under Prince Saud bin Talal’s interest in promoting this cultural heritage of the Kingdom and the values associated with it, as well as his support for falconry professionals and amateurs at the level of the province.
He explained that the upcoming editions of the festival can achieve major economic returns through the organization of many accompanying events that support this heritage and contribute to preserving its value, which enhances the aspect of rooting the falcon heritage in Saudi, Arab and Islamic culture, explaining that the festival included major events such as Melwah racing and a cultural exhibition on «S».
During the ceremony, it was announced that five falcons from the category of free and monstrous mountain peregrine falcons will participate in the name of the Governor of Al-Ahsa, as part of the support of the (HADAD) program to return falcons to their original habitat in nature – one of the programs of the Saudi Falcon Club – which was launched in 2021 by Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Saudi Falcon Club – may God protect him – in order to preserve and return falcon breeds to their habitats and achieve ecological balance within the framework of the state care for the environment and wildlife.
Then everyone watched a short film that tells the story of the festival from its inception to its conclusion, then poet Mohsen Al-Marri recited a poem on this occasion, and at the end of the ceremony, the Governor of Al-Ahsa honored the winners of the final day’s runs, in addition to the government agencies and participating sponsors.
